Album Review - Sixty Six Steps

In theory, the combination of finger-picking guitar whiz Kottke and ex--Phish bass virtuoso Gordon constitutes the sort of mini super-session musos dream about. The only problem: Not everyone's a muso, and much like their prior collaboration (2002's Clone), this mostly feels like above-average elevator music for hipsters. Best track: their laid-back meditation on Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion." B-
