Album Review - Round Room
Leave it to Phish to get off track when they're supposed to be working. Written and recorded while the guys were rehearsing for a New Year's Eve show (thus ending a self-imposed hiatus), Round Room has a warm, off-the-cuff vibe that makes their ninth studio release their strongest since 1994's Hoist. While spacey jams such as "Waves," "Seven Below" and "Pebbles and Marbles" will have many Phisheads bouncing around the room, the bluesy Stones-gone-reggae "46 Days" will fully delight the "Phish Rocks!" contingent. And fans of pianist Page McConnell need not worry, as there's plenty of him throughout, too. Now if they would just take vacations more often--wait, no, keep working, boys. Um, you know what we mean.
