Album Review - Billy Breathes

No one else sounds like Phish. Taking their start from the imposing twin towers of progressive rock and improvisational jazz, this Vermont-based quartet has moved inexorably toward pop without ever losing their identity. With its Beatles/Beach Boys/Yes–influenced harmonies, Billy Breathes is their most accessible album yet. "Free" is a fairly punchy first single, but "Waste" (about the pressures of public life) and the Paul Simon-goes-loopy "Train Song" are more memorable.
