COVENTRY, Vt. - Promoters of next week's Phish concert are renting a local radio station to broadcast the music and provide traffic updates.

Great Northeast Productions Inc. is leasing the Derby radio station at 92.1 on the FM dial. Known as WMOO, it will become "The Bunny" during the festival. It will go on the air Aug. 12.

Dave Werlin, president of Great Northeast Productions, said the radio station will operate live 24 hours a day.

There also will be live, worldwide radio broadcasts of the Aug. 14 and 15 shows by XM satellite, and fans will be able to view the shows at selected movie theaters around the country.

Werlin said 50,000 movie tickets will be available.

He's hoping the live high-definition video broadcasts, as well as the XM satellite broadcasts, will take the pressure off Coventry.

The concert is sold out, and people without tickets will be turned back if they don't have a ticket, state police have warned. Less than 70,000 tickets were sold, but Werlin and state police are expecting some 80,000 people to show up for the two-day Phish farewell festival.
