Police catch drug suspects at Phish concert

Tuesday night's Phish concert at Star Lake Amphitheater kept state and local police busy with assorted arrests.
Arraigned before District Justice James Ellis Wednesday morning was Thomas Peter Thomassian, 28, of Crested Butte, Colo., who was arrested by undercover troopers who say they witnessed Thomassian snorting cocaine in his parked car near the Star Lake entrance.
A search of the car produced seven small plastic bags containing cocaine and a large plastic bag containing cocaine, Valium, Ecstasy and Xanax, police said. Thomassian also was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use.
Thomassian was placed in Washington County Jail on $2,500 bail. A preliminary hearing will be held Aug. 7.
John Doe, 28, of Skokie, Ill., was charged with possession of psylocibin mushrooms. Hanover Township police said he had 15 bags containing the mushrooms, which he intended to sell. In addition, Doe was selling beer without a license, police said.
Doe was charged with 15 counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and 15 counts of possession of a controlled substance. He also was cited for selling beer without a permit.
Ellis ordered him jailed on $5,000 bond.
And a woman who Hanover Township police have been able to identify only as Jane Doe was accused of kicking Officer Michel Kershner in the groin and biting his thumb. She was arraigned on four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
She was jailed on $2,500 bond.
All three will appear for preliminary hearings on Aug. 7.
