Expect lots of colors, lots of dancing, and a steady stream of sweet-smelling
"incense" when Phish returns to Raleigh. The transcendental jam band and its
school of devoted followers will swim into Alltel Pavilion Sunday, part of a
month-long U.S. tour that culminates with the band's sixth huge festival. "It,"
as the August end-of-summer party is known this time, marks Phish's third
bash at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine.
In traditional Phish phashion,
every performance this year will be available for download at
www.livephish.com within 48 hours after the show. So far this year, Phish members have
released several solo and live albums. Alltel Pavilion likely will open its parking
lot in the early afternoon Sunday for Phish's extended family of loyal fans to
set up wares - homemade clothes, jewelry and food, among other things. Doors
officially open at 7 p.m. Lawn and seat tickets are $39.50 through
TicketMaster or at the box office. Limit six tickets per person.
