Phish guitarist and frontman Trey Anastasio backs his forthcoming live CD with a 10-date tour that spans two weeks in May.
The outing touches down in six cities, and two nights each are set for New York, San Francisco and Chicago. The run concludes with a pair of headlining nights at Burlington, Vt.'s Discover Jazz festival.
According to Phish's official website, a limited number of tickets will go on sale via Anastasio's online ticketing system from April 7-10. The remainder will go on sale to the general public via traditional ticket outlets on April 25.
Anastasio's touring band is the same as last year's: bassist Tony Markellis, drummer Russ Lawton, keyboardist Ray Paczkowsi, trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick, trombonist Andy Moroz, alto saxophonist Dave Grippo, tenor saxophonist Russell Remington and percussionist Cyro Baptista.
On April 29, Anastasio releases the 2-CD live album "Plasma," which was culled from his summer and fall 2002 tours. It also features seven previously unreleased tracks.
Last month, Phish announced that it will embark in July on a 21-date tour that wraps up with a two-day festival in Maine.
