NEW YORK (AP) - Phish is planning to let fans have a souvenir of their upcoming concerts: the concerts themselves. The band will offer Live Phish Downloads through their Web site: high quality unedited soundboard recordings of their live shows.

It will begin with their four upcoming shows: the New Year's Eve show in New York and the three from Hampton, Va., that same week.

Fans will be able to purchase and download the files within 48 hours of the show, and they will be able to transfer them to portable players or burn them onto a CD.

Phish is offering its Oct. 7, 2000, show from San Francisco for free until Jan. 1. By registering with the site, users can receive an e-mail alert every time a new show is available for download, according to a press release from the band. Phish has offered their live shows on CD before and plan to release a new batch in April. The downloads can be purchased at www.livephish.com.
