PHISH is becoming a cult band in the tradition of the Grateful Dead. Phish constantly tours the country, has set up a computer network called "Phishnet" to post band happenings, and strives for low ticket prices and easy access for fans. It is all designed with Deadheads in mind. "Deadheads like to see people who are jamming live," lead singer Trey Anastasio said in a recent interview. "It's an energy or something these people are after." Other members of the band are Mike Gordon on bass, Page McConnell on piano and Jon Fishman on drums. Phish's new album is called "A Picture of Nectar" (Elektra) and displays the band's musical versatility with influences of rock, jazz, reggae and even classical. "You can dance to the beat when you come to see us, but we're also presenting something to the people who want more substance," Anastasio said. Phish will play an 8 p.m. all-ages show on Friday in the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda.
